Nashville: Ukrainian refugee and an author Ellina Lesnik is also a Chaplain from Jethro International.

Prepare to be moved by the powerful new release from Ukrainian author and Chaplain from Jethro Civil Diplomat, Ellina Lesnik.

Her book, My Broken World, offers a gripping account of the personal experiences of those who have lived through the horrors of the war in Ukraine.

Ellina Lesnik, originally from Ukraine, is now based in Nashville, Tennessee, after fleeing the ongoing conflict.

Married to Sergey Lesnik and raising their three daughters, Ellina has a unique perspective on the war’s impact on families and communities.

She met Sergey while they were students in Kyiv, and since then, she has pursued studies in counseling both in Ukraine and the USA, including at CCEF.

In 2019, she became the head of the online school _Help for Heart_ and co-founded the Help for Heart Ministry.

Today, she continues her mission from the U.S., where she and her family have built a new life after their harrowing escape.

My Broken World: A Testament to Survival

“The first time I heard airplanes overhead, I thought to myself, ‘I need to hide.”

More than four million people have fled Ukraine since the outbreak of war, according to the United Nations. Ellina Lesnik is one of them.

Her book, My Broken World, is a collection of stories from 13 witnesses, each sharing their personal and emotional accounts of the war.

“My friends are scattered across the world now—Switzerland, Germany, Croatia, Italy, Spain—and I’m here in the U.S. We all wonder when we’ll be able to go home.”

Ellina’s own journey out of Ukraine was a terrifying ordeal.

She told her three young daughters they were going to visit their grandmother, embarking on a 12-hour drive through bombings, tanks, and overcrowded roads in search of safety.

Stories of Resilience and Courage

My Broken World highlights the experiences of soldiers, civilians, volunteers, and families, each facing unimaginable challenges.

Through their stories, Ellina Lesnik paints a vivid picture of the human side of the war, bringing to light the pain, strength, and determination of ordinary Ukrainians.

“In this book, I have gathered testimonies from diverse voices—each one telling a different story of loss, hope, and survival.”

“These narratives offer a broader understanding of the conflict, beyond what we see in the headlines.”

Ellina Lesnik’s hope is that My Broken World will not only raise awareness about the war but also foster empathy and understanding among readers.

“This book gives a face to the millions affected by war. It’s a call to remember, to empathize, and to never turn away from the reality of human suffering.”
